ARTWORK
This original, handmade acrylic painting is part of the 'Les ondes provençales' (Provence vibes) series by Ida du Lac.
Vast underground vaulted passages were created towards the end of the 1st century BC, when Arles became a Roman colony. Ida thought she knew Arles from countless visits since the 1970s—far from it: thanks to an exhibition held in these cryptoportiques, she discovered a new level of Arles—the subterranean. The abstract interpretation of this is held in warm earth tones.
Hand signed and dated.
Sealed with varnish to protect against dirt and light.
Framed and fitted with new mounts and ready to hang.

FRAME
Swiss gold wash frame from a private collection around 1930 - An aesthetically significant collectible, selected for its ability to retain its presence and unique presentation over time. Vintage frames are at least 50 years old, but no more than 99 years old.
All frames exhibit typical signs of age and minor imperfections that lend their unique character and emphasize the passage of time. Together with new works by Ida du Lac, they shine in the light of the present.
